This occurred after the protesters stormed the Institute For Peace and Conflict Resolution Abuja, in Abogo Largema a Central business district area in Abuja. Members of the Shiite movement are demanding the release of their leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, and lamenting his continued detention.

5. PDP Blames Buhari Govt For Shiite, Police Clash In Abuja

The Peoples Democratic Party has called for an urgent probe into the alleged clash between security operatives and members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, also known as Shiite. The party, in a statement, said an inquest into what caused the crisis should be carried out as soon as possible.

Human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN) has condemned the attack on Shi’ite Muslims by security agencies on Monday in Abuja. Also, Falana called for the release of Shiite detainees in line with  the order of the Federal High Court if the government was “genuinely desirous” of stopping the protest.
