Real Madrid have an impressive win in their final game in front of their fans this season and they can still catch Atletico Madrid into second place next weekend. But more importantly, it’s shown Zinedine Zidane that Gareth Bale is a real contender to start against Liverpool in the Champions League final. 

Madrid strolled to victory in their final home game of the season, putting six past a Celta side that started brightly, but soon fell away.

Bale netted a brace and Isco hit a stunner in the first half, before Hakimi got in on the act in the second period, with a Sergio Gomez own goal and a Kroos strike completing the rout.  

Celta were simply blown away by the hosts, who must now hope that Atletico lose their final game of the season as they bid to finish second, but confidence will be high in the Real camp ahead of the real prize – the Champions League. It finishes 6-0 to Real here at the Bernabeu!  Brilliant Bale inspires Madrid rout, A double inside half an hour from Gareth Bale and a stylish outing from Isco meant Real Madrid were far too much for Celta Vigo to handle.  

 Gareth Bale continued a fine run of recent form to further press his claims for a starting place against Liverpool in the Champions League final with a brace in Real Madrid’s 6-0 thrashing of Celta Vigo.
