1. Aggrieved APC Members Vow To Shock Buhari In 2019

Some members of the defunct new Peoples Democratic Party in the All Progressives Congress have warned the ruling party against taking them for granted. Spokesman for the Alhaji Kawu Baraje faction of the nPDP, Timi Frank, on Tuesday dismissed the Senator Abdullahi Adamu faction, calling its members “mere noise-makers.”

2. PDP Members Can’t Stop Buhari From Winning 2019 Election – El-Rufai

Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna has dismissed the threat by the New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) caucus to leave the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He said leaving the APC will not limit President Muhammadu Buhari’s chances of winning the 2019 election.


3. Two Nigerians Shot Dead In South Africa 


Two young Nigerians have been killed in South Africa, spokesman of the Nigeria Union in the rainbow nation Habib Miller has revealed. Francis Ochuba, who hailed from Ngodo community in Umnneochi Abia state, and Chidi Ibebuike, a native of Uturu, also in Abia, are the latest victims. And reports say the number of Nigerians killed there is now 118 in two years.

4. We Have Recovered Loots Running Into Trillions Of Naira – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday boasted that his administration has recovered trillions of naira stolen by those he described as people without conscience since coming into office in 2015. He said this in his address at the inauguration of the new headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) located at Jabi District in Abuja Buhari, who admitted that anti-corruption war is not easy to fight because it affects different branches of national lives also denied allegations that his government embarks on witch-hunts in the fight against graft.

5. Omo-Agege, Ndume Summoned Over Mace Theft

Senators Ovie Omo-Agege and Ali Ndume have been invited by the joint Senate and House of Representatives panel investigating the invasion of the red chamber and snatching of its mace. Chairman of the committee Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah said the testimonies given by various security personnel at the National Assembly Complex before the panel had implicated Omo-Agege and Ndume.

The House of Representatives on Tuesday said the 2018 Appropriation Bill of N9.12 trillion would be passed on Wednesday, May 16. Deputy Speaker of the House, Yusuf Lasun, who presided over the plenary session on Tuesday, made this known after the budget report was presented by the Chairman of the Committee on Appropriation, Honourable Mustapha Dawaki.

7. Court Adjourns Alleged Husband Killer Maryam Sanda’s Trial

The hearing of alleged husband killer Maryam Sanda has been adjourned due to her counsel’s ill-health. The court was informed on Tuesday, May 15, that Sanda’s counsel, Joseph Daudu (SAN), was ill, hence was absent from the hearing.

North Korea has suspended its high-level talks with the South billed for Wednesday due to U.S.-South Korean military exercises. It was also learned that this could affect next month’s summit between Pyongyang’s leader, Kim Jong-un and U.S. President Donald Trump.

9. Lagos Gets Buhari’s Nod To Take Over National Stadium, Surulere

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the release of the Lagos National Stadium to the government of Lagos for retrofitting and upgrading. Speaking at the ongoing annual Ministerial Press Briefing in Alausa, Ikeja, Chairman of Lagos State Sports Commission, Kweku Tandoh, said it was gratifying to report that after series of back and forth, action would commence next week on paperwork for the formal handover of the facility to Lagos.

10. Eagles W/Cup List Nigeria’s Best – Kojo Williams

Former Chairman of the defunct Nigeria Football Association Kojo Williams has said the Super Eagles provisional squad for the World Cup is the best the country has on offer. Williams noted this on Tuesday, but admitted that the team cannot win the World Cup. Williams said ”the squad is the best we have now and it is a reflection of the standard of our football, which has our best playing in Turkey, Israel, China and Belgium.”

11. Arteta Reaches Agreement With Arsenal – Report

Manchester City assistant manager Mikel Arteta has completed his interview with Arsenal with a verbal agreement to become the Gunners boss.
