[Breaking News] Offa Bank Robbery: Police Invite Senitor Bukola Saraki, Over A Recent Bank Robbery. (Watch Video)

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has been invited by the Nigeria Police over a recent bank robbery attack and killings at Offa, Kwara state.
The attack resulted in the death of 33 people.
And the general spokesman for the police, Jimoh Moshood, on Sunday said Saraki’s invitation followed confessions made by the arrested suspects.
He said the force had arrested 22 suspects, including five ringleaders who alleged Saraki’s involvement in the gang.
The Senate President governed Kwara from May 29, 2003, to May 29, 2011.
The suspects, according to the police, also named the Governor of Kwara, Abdulfatah Ahmed, as their sponsor.
The suspects reportedly confessed to have been on the payroll of the Kwara government and Mandate Office of Saraki.
But the police did not state when Saraki  is expected to appear.
“Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki is being invited by the Nigeria Police Force… to answer to the allegations levelled against him from the confessions of the five gang leaders,” Moshood said in a statement.
“Investigation is ongoing and effort is being intensified to arrest other suspects still at large. All suspects involved will be arraigned in court for prosecution on completion of investigation,” he added.
Saraki had on 16 May raised the alarm, during plenary, of a purported plan by the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to implicate him with the use of some arrested murder suspects.
