1. Police Allegation Baseless, Ploy To Implicate Me – Saraki

Senate President Bukola Saraki has described the claim by the Nigeria Police linking him to the recent Offa robbery incident as baseless and a ploy to implicate him. Concise News reported that the Police had invited Saraki, for questioning over his alleged involvement in the offa Bank robbery attack in Kwara State.

2. DSS Withdraws Security Details From Saraki, Dogara

The Department of State Services (DSS) on Sunday recalled half of its operatives assigned to Senate President Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara. This is coming ahead of Monday’s talks between Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo and the nPDP team to be led by Dogara.

3. Police Invite Saraki Over Offa Bank Robbery

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has been invited by the Nigeria Police over a recent bank robbery attack and killings at Offa, Kwara state. The attack resulted in the death of 33 people. And the general spokesman for the police, Jimoh Moshood, on Sunday said Saraki’s invitation followed confessions made by the arrested suspects.

4. Gov. Ahmed Denies Link With Offa Bank Robbery Suspects

Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State has dismissed police allegations of sponsoring and arming political thugs in the state. The governor was responding to a statement by the Nigeria Police accusing him of sponsoring political thugs allegedly linked to the Offa Armed Robbery incident, that claimed over 30 lives.

This is following the shooting of an ex-lawmaker and Chieftain of the APC, Hon Opeyemi Bamidele and a yet to be identified person by a policeman, as Fayemi began the rally for the July 14 governorship election in Ekiti State.

Seven people have been killed while six are injured in an attack on Kwande area of Benue state by suspected herdsmen, chairman of the local government has said. Terdoo Kenti said on Sunday in Makurdi that the attackers also abducted a woman during the incident on Saturday night at Tseadough village.

8. SERAP Asks Buhari To Probe Election Bribe To NASS Members

President Muhammadu Buhari should probe allegations of payment of N17 billion to the National Assembly as ‘election expenses’ of its members to pass the 2015 budget, the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project has said. Former Minister of Finance Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala had made the allegation recently and SERAP has called on Buhari to order the right agencies to investigate the claims.
