1. Buhari Plotting To Frame APC, PDP Members – Secondus

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, has named those he alleged the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is planning to set up. The former ruling party chairman disclosed the names while speaking during the inauguration of the Ekiti State Governorship campaign on Monday.

2. Police Make U-turn, Ask Saraki To Respond In Writing

The Nigeria Police have asked the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, to respond to them in writing within 48 hours, barely 24 hours after they asked him to appear in person. The Police had summoned him for questioning over his alleged relationship with suspects arrested in connection with the bank robbery in Offa recently.

3. Osinbajo Meets With Police IG, Malami, DSS Boss Over Saraki

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo has reportedly met with police boss Ibrahim Idris, Director General of the, Lawal Daura, and the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami. Reports say Nigeria’s number two citizen met with the aforementioned security chiefs due to Senate President Bukola Saraki’s invitation for questioning by the police.

4. President Buhari, APC Governors Meet In Aso Rock

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday evening broke the Ramadan fast with state governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC). They all gathered in Buhari’s official residence at Aso Rock, Abuja.

5. Fani-Kayode Speaks On Saraki’s Police Summons

Ex-Minister of Culture Femi Fani-Kayode has said Senate President Bukola Saraki “is not an armed robber or a murderer” following his summon by the Police. Recall that the former Kwara State Governor was invited by the Police over alleged sponsorship of suspects in the Offa bank robbery earlier in the year.

6. Nigerian Army Was Too Soft On Biafrans – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday stated that the Nigeria Army was too soft on Biafrians during the country’s civil war. The civil war, which broke out in 1967, after eastern Nigeria declared “Republic of Biafra” ended in 1970.

7. Presidency Trying To Blackmail Saraki, Dogara – PDP

Former new Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) have accused the presidency of trying to blackmail Senate President Bukola Saraki and the House of Reps Speaker, Yakubu Dogara. In a statement by its spokesperson the group declared that what the top lawmakers were going through in the hands of the Nigeria Police and the Department of State of Services (DSS) was ordered by the presidency.

8. Presidency Throws Jibe At Obasanjo, Babangida

The Presidency recently threw a subtle jibe at former President Olusegun Obasanjo and former Head of State Ibrahim Babangida. Lauretta Onochie, media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari in a recent tweet on her handle, posted a picture of Buhari, Obasanjo and Babangida. Onochie however captioned the picture with a question: “Who has a copy of the movie called. “THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY?”

9. 58 Women Used As Boko Haram Sex Slaves Rescued (Photos)

Fifty-eight women used as sex slaves by Boko Haram in Bama area of Borno have been rescued by Nigerian soldiers, the army said on Monday. The troops also rescued 75 children and 15 men.

10. Ex-Ondo Governor Mimiko Set To Dump PDP

Former governor of Ondo state Olusegun Mimiko has reportedly concluded all arrangements to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join his former party, Labour Party. Mimiko, who governed the state for eight years, was elected as the governor of the state on the platform of LP in 2007 and 2012 before he joined PDP in 2014.

11. President Trump, Kim Meeting Set For June 12

The White House confirmed on Monday that the first meeting between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will take place at 9:00 am Singapore time on June 12. “The advance team in Singapore is finalizing preparations and will remain in place until the summit begins,” said Press Secretary Sarah Sanders.

The life of a woman with terminal breast cancer has been saved by a pioneering new therapy, according to US researchers. It involved pumping 90 billion cancer-killing immune cells into her body. The team at the US National Cancer Institute says the therapy is still experimental, but could transform the treatment of all cancer.

14. Karius Suffered Concussion During Champions League Final

Tests carried out by the Massachusetts General Hospital have revealed that Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius suffered a concussion during his side’s defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League final. The German was roundly criticised for his performance during the 3-1 loss in Kiev after two calamitous errors led to the Blancos securing a third successive European title.
