The candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ademola Adeleke, in the Osun state governorship election is leading after collation of results from 29 of the 30 local government areas. But the result in Osogbo, which is the most populous area in the State, is likely to determine the final outcome of Saturday’s governorship election.

2. IBB Blesses Tambuwal Ahead 2019 Presidential Election

Former military president, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, has given his blessings to Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State over his aspiration for the 2019 presidential election. Babangida blessed the former speaker of the House of Representatives when he hosted him at his Hilltop residence in Minna on Saturday.

3. Ambode Must Go Through Primaries With Others – Governor’s Advisory Council

The Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) on Saturday, insisted that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos state must go through the primaries of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). 5. NYSC Slams Buhari’s Minister For Skipping Service

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has slammed the Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu, for saying the political office he held had compensated for failing to take part in the compulsory one-year national service. Spokesperson of the NYSC, Adenike Adeyemi stated that there is no exception for Shittu who became a lawmaker at a young age.

6. Cholera Outbreak: Yobe Records 906 Fresh Cases, 61 Deaths

The government Yobe state, says 906 fresh cases of cholera have been recorded in the state with 61 deaths while 50 others are still on admission in hospitals across the state. Yobe State Commissioner for Health, Dr Muhammad Kawuwa, who made the disclosure in a statement in Damaturu, said Acute Water Diarrhea (AWD) cases were reported in some parts of the state.

Former deputy governor of Osun state and candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the the state’s governorship poll, Iyiola Omisore, has claimed that the voting process was flawed. Omisore also alleged that there were cases of vote buying in some areas in the state.

8. Atiku Speaks On ‘Problem’ With Obasanjo Ahead 2019

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said he is not bothered about any “problem” with ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo. Atiku served under Obasanjo between 1999 and 2007 with reports suggesting that the two are not on good terms. However, Atiku, who is a presidential aspirant for the 2019 election under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says he does not have any problem with his former boss.

9. Anthony Joshua Blows Away Povetkin To Retain Titles

Anthony Joshua knocked out Alexander Povetkin to retain his heavyweight titles on Saturday at London’s Wembley Stadium. The Briton now retains his International Boxing Federation, World Boxing Association and World Boxing Organisation heavyweight titles.
10. Nigerian-born Anthony Joshua retained his International Boxing Federation (IBF), 
World Boxing Association (WBA) and World Boxing Organisation (WBO) heavyweight titles, with a seventh-round stoppage of Alexander Povetkin at Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday.
A previously close contest turned in Joshua’s favour decisively, when he sent the Russian crashing to the canvas, with a straight right hand and left hook.
