Governor Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos State on Saturday met with the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, at the ruling party’s National Convention in Abuja. Ambode posed for photographs with Tinubu and the newly elected candidate of the APC for the 2019 Lagos governorship election, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, before taking his seat.

Sani polled 2,088 votes to defeat incumbent Senator Shehu Sani, who got 15 votes, and three other aspirants. Prof. Eddie Floyd-Igbo, the APC electoral chairman for the Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone, declared the results of the primaries held at Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Sports Multipurpose Hall, Kaduna, on Saturday.

The Nigerian Police on Saturday bared journalists from covering the APC senatorial primary election in Zaria, Kaduna State. It was learned that the journalists used all persuasive means to get entry including parading their identity cards and making phone calls to some senior police officers but to no avail.
