1. Senate Confirms Mace Recovery, Summons IG, DSS Boss

But Buhari’s top media aide Femi Adesina said what his boss actually said was “a lot of” Nigerian youths and not all of them.

Men suspected to be soldiers have burnt several houses and destroyed property worth millions in Naka area of Gwer in Benue state, North-central Nigeria. It was gathered that the armed men carried out the raid in response to the killing of a soldier in the community. Residents told newsmen that the town was raided on Thursday by soldiers who were searching for one of their colleagues.

Monica Osagie is the student involved in a sex-for-marks scandal at the Obafemi Awolowo University, the institution’s management revealed on Thursday. Concise News learned that miss Osagie is studying Business Administration. Vice Chancellor of the school Prof. Eyitope Ogunbodede, who revealed the student’s identity, confirmed the lecturer involved in the scandal, Prof. Richard Akindele, has been recommended for suspension.

Emir of Kano Muhammad Sanusi (II) has asked the Kano State Hisbah Board to probe the alleged immorality by youths of Badawa, Kawo, Sauna and Haye. The areas are under the Nassarawa local government of Kano and Concise News gathered that this act occurred at a football viewing centre. Residents of the areas, it was learned, had complained to the monarch that the viewing centre, which was opened by one Anwulu Sankara, had become “a platform for immoral and criminal acts.”

9. 45 Policemen Who Arrested Evans Get Special Promotion

Police Service Commission on Thursday rewarded 45 officers who ensured the arrest of notorious kidnap kingpin Evans with special promotions. The promotions come a year after Evans was arrested in Lagos alongside over 20 suspected members of his gang. Properties worth millions of naira were said to have been recovered from the suspects. Chairman of the commission and former Inspector General of Police Mike Okiro presided over the ratification of the promotions at a plenary.
