1. CAN Commends Trump, Asks Buhari To ‘Sit Up’

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) says the comment of the United States President, Donald Trump, on the killings in Nigeria was the right thing and a wake-up call to President Muhammadu Buhari. CAN said Trump hit the nail on its head, saying the Republican president told Buhari the right thing. Spokesman for CAN President, Pastor Bayo Oladeji, called on the Buhari administration to address the killings in the country.

2. Trump Comments On Killing Of Christians Unpresidential – MURIC

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has condemned United States President, Donald J. Trump, over his comments on killings of Christians in Nigeria, describing it as prejudiced, parochial and unpresidential. MURIC’s Director, Ishaq Akintola, said Trump’s statement makes a mockery of democracy, stressing that it is sheer interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign nation. Akintola said Trump’s ”reckless” approach alienates the American public, adding that it is repugnant to world leaders.


3. Why Buhari defended Herdsmen During US Visit – Afenifere

Yoruba group Afenifere has said President Muhammadu Buhari defended herdsmen during his meeting with United States President Donald Trump because he is their patron. Afenifere, in a statement on Tuesday, said Buhari “should not have gone to the international stage and say Fulani herdsmen don’t carry AK 47; that destroyed everything for the President.”

4. Death Toll In Adamawa Blasts Hits 60

At least 60 people were on Tuesday killed in twin suicide blasts in Mubi, Adamawa state, according to residents in the area. “I took part in the burial of 68 people. More bodies were being brought by families of the victims,” a resident who attended a funeral of the victims told AFP.

The building of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in Abuja was never gutted by fire, the apex bank’s corporate communications director, Isaac Okorafor, said on Tuesday evening. Describing reports of fire outbreak at the CBN headquarters as false, Okorafor said rumour of the incident started when a passer-by saw a pall of exhaust from the CBN generator house and mistook it for fire.

8. Gov. Dickson’s Aide Shot Dead In Bayelsa

An aide of Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa state has been killed by gunmen suspected to be assassins. Concise News understands that the deceased, Ebikimi Okoringa, was shot dead at his hometown in Kolokuma/Opokuma area of the oil-rich state. Reports have it that Okoringa, who recently assumed a role as a Special Adviser to Dickson, was killed at about 10pm on Monday.

Founder of AIT and Raypower FM Raymond Dokpesi has said his United States visa has been revoked because his name is on the federal government’s looters list. Dokpesi, as a result, has sued Nigeria’s Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, who made known the list. The media mogul is seeking N5billion damages for alleged defamation of character.

The world’s largest social network Facebook is planning to add a dating service to its features, the network’s founder, Mark Zuckerberg, announced on Tuesday. The Facebook chief unveiled the plan in a speech at Facebook’s annual developers conference.
