2. Appeal Court Gives FG Go-ahead To Extradite Senator Kashamu To US

The Court of Appeal on Friday granted the request of the federal government to extradite Senator Prince Buruji Kashamu (PDP-Ogun East) to the United States of America (USA) to face trial in a drug related offence. The court voided and set aside all orders made by a federal high court between 2014 and 2017 restraining the government from proceeding with the extradition.

Justice Nasir Ajanah, the trial judge, gave the order on Friday after the lawmaker’s counsel, Mike Ezekhome (SAN) sought for his bail. This is coming barely 24 hours after Melaye appeared before a Senior Magistrates Court in Kogi state, on a stretcher.
