1. Clark Names Top Police Officers Allegedly Behind Home Raid
Elder statesman Edwin Clark has named a Deputy Commissioner of Police Yusuf Kolo and Assistant Inspector General of Police, Federal Intelligence, Umoru Usman, as those who instructed the search of his home.
2. IGP Dismisses Three Police Inspectors Involved In Raiding Clark’s Home
The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has ordered the dismissal of the three inspectors involved in the unauthorised search of the home of elder statesman, Edwin Clark. Spokesman for the police, Jimoh Moshood, revealed this on Thursday. He added that ASP David Dominic, who led the operation, had been queried and was being investigated for discreditable conduct, negligence of duty and act unbecoming of a police officer.
3. Widow Demands Justice As Herdsmen Behead Adamawa PDP Chairman
Suspected Fulani herdsmen have reportedly beheaded the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bare ward, Numan area of Adamawa state in Nigeria’s northeast region. It was learned that the deceased, Charles Chrisanthus, was brutally murdered in the presence of his wife, Dorcas, and four-month-old son in his farm on 29 August, 2018. And according to the agitated Dorcas, police operatives in the state are protecting the killers of her husband from trial.

Supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) reportedly clashed at the headquarters of the PDP in Abuja on Thursday. The incident happened as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar was at the party secretariat to submit his Nomination and Expression of Interest forms to contest for the PDP presidential primary.

The ruling All Progressives Congress has dismissed the Peoples Democratic Party’s claim that six governors and some senators in the ruling party are planning to join its fold. Spokesman for the APC, Yekini Nabena, said that by PDP’s claim, “it is now clear that the party has assumed the role of comic relief ahead of the 2019 general election.”

The Board of Trustees of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday barred its members from campaigning for any of the party’s 13 presidential aspirants. The PDP BoT took this stance at its meeting in Abuja. Addressing newsmen after the meeting, Chairman of the Board, Senator Walid Jibrin, also said that the Board considered pruning the number of the aspirants.

Former Inspector-General of Police Suleiman Abba has issued out a warning to Reno Omokri, ex-President Goodluck Jonathan’s former media aide. Speaking with journalists when he visited the secretariat of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Lagos, Abba challenged Omokri to a debate on his activities as the IG, adding that if Omokri provokes him, he would open up on some things and Jonathan would feel sad.

Statistics released by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says registered voter population has now hit 84.27 million. The commission also disclosed that the collection of PVCs would continue until one week to the 2019 general election.
