President Muhammadu Buhari is expecting the resignation of the Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu, over his failure to participate in the mandatory one-year National Youth Service Corps scheme (NYSC). The minister had failed to participate in the scheme after his graduation from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), Osun State.

APC had alleged that Atiku is wanted in the United States for fraud, claiming Obasanjo was plotting to have the alleged charges dropped, in order to clear the path for Atiku’s entry into that country.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the travel ban placed on 50 high-profile Nigerians by President Muhammadu Buhari. The main opposition party gave the rejection in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, on Saturday in Abuja.

6. Atiku, Secondus Meet British High Commissioner

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, met with the British High Commissioner, Paul Arkwright, and the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby on Saturday. Details of the meeting, held at the British High Commission in Abuja, were unknown.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Saturday brightened their chances of qualifying for the African Cup Of Nation in Cameroon next year with a commanding 4-0 thrashing of Libya. China-based Odion Ighalo led the way with a hat-trick in the match played at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
