1. Fayemi Emerges Winner Of Ekiti APC Governorship Primary

Minister of Mines and Steel Development and former Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has won the All Progressives Congress governorship (APC) primary election held in Ado Ekiti, the state capital. Nasarawa State Governor, Tanko Al-Makura, announced this on Saturday at the venue of the exercise. He stated that Fayemi polled a total of 941 votes to beat 32 other aspirants.

2. Oni, Arise Others Congratulate Fayemi Over Victory

Former Ekiti State Governor, Segun Oni and some governorship aspirants who contested the Ekiti All Progressives Congress (APC) Primary against Dr. Kayode Fayemi have congratulated him for winning the race. The Chairman of the Ekiti state Governorship Primary Election Committee, Governor Tanko Al-Makura, had earlier declared Fayemi the winner of the election.

Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun state has revealed that his greatest regret was working with the Peoples Democratic Party at the Federal level. Recall that Aregbesola’s regime saw the reign of former President Goodluck Jonathan between 2010 and 2015. The governor noted this during an interactive programme tagged “Ogbeni Till Daybreak” in Osogbo.

4. Senate To Discuss Omo-Agege Suspension Next Week

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Aliyu Sabi-Abdullahi, has said that lawmakers would discuss about matters arising from the suspension of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege on Tuesday. Omo-Agege had vowed to resume plenary next week despite the Senate’s appeal to a High Court’s nullification of his suspension. Speaking to Punch, Abdullahi said he could not confirm if the senator could resume or not.

5. Senate Invited IGP Idris Because Of Melaye – Police

The Nigeria Police Force has alleged that the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris was invited by the Senate because of Senator Dino Melaye and not the killings across the country as claimed. The police through its spokesman, ACP Jimoh Moshood, in a statement on Saturday in Abuja said if the invitation was for Idris to brief the senate on strategies adopted in tackling killings in the country, it would not have been planned for a national television.

6. Stray Bullet Kills Teenage Girl During Oyo LG Polls

An 18-year-old girl identified as Abubakar Kofoworola Lateefat was on Saturday killed at Idi Oro in Ibadan North West Local Government Area of Oyo State by a stray bullet allegedly shot by a security agent on election duty. The security agent was reportedly trying to disperse the crowd at one of the polling units when he accidentally shot the girl who died on the spot.

7. One Dead, Others Injured In Lagos APC LG Congress

A man identified as Nurudeen Olanose was shot dead on Saturday while three others were critically injured when violence broke out at the Local Government Congress of the APC held in Agege, Lagos state. The congress was reportedly said to be going on smoothly at the Central School, Dopemu, when unknown hoodlums were said to have invaded the place, shooting sporadically into the air while party members scampered to safety.

8. FG Will Review Varsity Curriculum – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that his administration will intensify efforts to ensure the periodic review of the university curriculum. This is to meet the national needs global demands. Buhari, who was represented by Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission (NUC), Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, noted this at the final day of the 2017 convocation of the University of Lagos.

9. Adewale Emerges Ekiti ADP Governorship Candidate

The National Committee Chairman for the primary election of the Action Democratic Party, (ADP) in Ekiti, Umaru Yakubu has declared Segun Adewale as the governorship candidate of the party for the July 14 election in the state. Secretary to the electoral committee, Adenike Jones, who announced the results of the election held throughout the 177 wards in the state, declared Segun Adewale as the candidate of the party.

10. Balogun Emerges Mega Party Governorship Candidate In Ekiti

The National Committee Chairman for the primary election of the Mega Party of Nigeria, (MPN), Isah Nuhu Isah has declared Sunday Balogun as the governorship candidate of the party. Balogun got 191 votes to defeat three other contestants; Abiodun Aluko, who came second with 146 votes, Senator Bode Olowoporuku, with 72 votes and Ambassador Ayodele Ayodeji, with 7 votes, came third and fourth respectively.

Keeping Up With The Kardashian star, Khloe Kardashian has revealed the picture of her daughter with NBA star Tristan Thompson. Khloe Kardashian, who shared the picture of her baby on her Instagram page, had earlier revealed that she and the NBA star named her True Thompson.

12. Kvitova Wins Third Madrid Open Title

Czech’s Petra Kvitova on Saturday won the Madrid Open title for the third time with a marathon 7-6 (8/6), 4-6, 6-3 victory over Kiki Bertens of the Netherlands. Kvitova, who was also the champion in Madrid in 2011 and 2015, has now claimed four titles in 2018 after triumphs in St Petersburg, Doha and last weekend in Prague.
