The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the winner of the governorship primary election held in the State. Tunji Balogun, the chairman of the party in the state, made the declaration at the state headquarters of the party on Tuesday night.

The chairman of the primary election committee of the APC in Lagos state, Clement Ebri, says a fresh poll is about to be conducted in the state. 6. Court Dismisses IGP’s Suit Seeking To Stop Senate’s Invitation

The Federal High Court in Abuja, on Tuesday, struck out a suit by the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, seeking to stop the Senate from inviting him for a legislative hearing. Delivering judgment in the suit which Idris filed after two successive invitations by the Senate, Justice John Tsoho ruled that the IG’s excuse for not honoring the Senate’s invitation was not tenable.

7. ASUU Accuses FG Of Planning To Introduce Minimum Of N350,000 Tuition

The coordinator of the Ibadan zone of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Dr Ade Adejumo, has accused the Federal Government of plotting to make students of federal universities pay a minimum of N350,000 as tuition fee. Adejomu said it was vital for ASUU to let the public know that there could be labour crisis in federal universities.

8. Law Student Dead As Suspected Herdsmen Invade Unijos Hostel

A 300 level law student has reportedly died after suspected herdsmen attacked a hostel at the University of Jos, Plateau State on Monday. This was revealed by the Student Union Government (SUG) Fwangshak Pantu who also said three other persons are still being treated at a hospital.

Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi was left out of the team’s squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with Libya due to fitness concerns, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has said. Speaking on the development, the NFF Media Officer Toyin Ibitoyerevealed that Mikel was still recovering from injury.
