1. Immunity Shielding Gov. Wike From Arrest – FG

The Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, has said Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State would have been arrested if not for immunity enjoyed by governors. The minister made this known while responding to Wike’s allegation that the Federal Government wanted to kill him.

2. $16bn Power Fund: SERAP Asks Buhari To Refer OBJ, Jonathan To EFCC, ICPC

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to refer the allegations of mismanagement of $16 billion power projects to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) for further investigation.

3. Bauchi Deputy Governor Resigns

The Bauchi state Deputy Governor, Nuhu Gidado, has resigned his appointment. Gidado tendered his resignation letter Governor Mohammed Abubakar on Thursday. In the letter, Gidado said he had lost interest in being the Deputy Governor.

President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and oil companies to quickly release fund for the clean-up of Ogoni community. The Minister of State, Petroleum Resources, Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachukwu disclosed this on Wednesday.
