1. How Obasanjo Removed Fayose, 3 Other Govs From Power – Presidency

The face-off between President Muhammadu Buhari and former President Olusegun Obasanjo over the running of Nigeria appears to be far from ending, with the Presidency recalling how the latter allegedly removed some governors from office. Buhari’s media aide Garba Shehu, on Sunday took a swipe at the ex-president, recalling some incidents that occurred under his tenure.

2. Yar’adua Killed Obasanjo’s Power Projects – Fani-Kayode

Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has claimed that former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s power projects were sabotaged by his successor late Musa Yar’adua. He spoke in reaction to recent accusation by President Muhammadu Buhari that Obasanjo used $16b on power project. According to Fani-Kayode, Obasanjo never lavished $16 billion on power projects.

3. Don’t Address Nigerians On Democracy Day, PDP Tells Buhari

Nigeria’s main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has called on President Muhammadu Buhari not to address Nigerians on Democracy Day. Buhari, who took over from PDP’s Goodluck Jonathan on 29 May, 2015, after defeating him in that year’s general election, is expected to address the nation on what his administration has achieved so far. But the PDP believes the President has failed to fulfil his promises and as such should not address Nigerians.

4. Saraki, Health Workers’ Leadership To Meet Again Monday

Senate President Bukola Saraki will on Monday meet with the leadership of the striking Joint Health Sector Unions. Saraki had met with leaders of the unions on Thursday, when he listened to their grievances and demands. During his meeting with the JOHESU leadership, led by its Chairman, Comrade Biobelemonye Joseph, Saraki pledged that the Senate would ensure that the right thing was done to end the strike.

5. Presidency Says Jonathan Is Nigeria’s Worst President

Lauretta Onochie, media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, has described former President Goodluck Jonathan as the Nigeria’s “worst” president. Onochie noted this in a Facebook post, where she said that Jonathan never did anything for his home state, Bayelsa, while in power.

6. Buhari To Meet Aggrieved nPDP Leadership Monday

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Monday meet with the leadership of the aggrieved members of the new Peoples Democratic Party within the ruling All Progressives Congress.  This was revealed by the leader of the group, Alhaji Kawu Baraje, on Sunday in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.

7. Obasanjo’s Party, 30 Others In Talks Ahead 2019 Elections

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), is discussing with about 30 other parties with a view to forming a mega alliance in June. The aim is to boost their chances of defeating incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari in next year’s general election.

8. Shehu Sani Declares Governorship Ambition

Senator Shehu Sani (APC/Kaduna Central) has declared his intention to run for the position of Governor of Kaduna state in the 2019 general election. The outspoken lawmaker, who also revealed his desire to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC), said the days of Nasir El-Rufai as governor of Kaduna were numbered.

9. Moses Out Of World Cup Party

Super Eagles will be without winger Simon Moses for the 2018 World Cup in Russia after he sustained a thigh injury. Moses was instrumental to the team’s qualification for the World Cup and has been battling with the injury since joining the team’s camp in Uyo. He was unable to train with his team-mates in Port Harcourt on Sunday as they prepared for Monday’s pre-World Cup friendly against the Democratic Republic of Congo.

10. Carl Ikeme Heading To World Cup

Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has said goalkeeper Carl Ikeme will be the team’s 24th player at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. The three-time African champions have always had an extra player for the tournament. And Ikeme, who is receiving treatment for Leukemia, will be added as the 24th player.
