1. National Assembly Debunks Buhari Impeachment Claims

The National Assembly on Wednesday, dismissed claims it was plotting to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari. The Chairman House Committee on Judiciary, Hon. Razak Atunwa, who was on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, said the joint executive session of the two chambers of the Assembly was held to debate on national issues.

2. Buhari Declares June 12 Democracy Day

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday announced that Democracy Day will henceforth be celebrated on June 12. In a statement released on Wednesday, Buhari also honoured MKO Abiola with the highest National Award in the country, GCFR.

The Peoples Democratic Party has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to quit since he lacks direction and does not mean well for the country. National President of the party Uche Secondus noted this on Wednesday in a statement where he called on the National Assembly to evoke their constitutional powers and impeach Buhari.
