Buhari, according to a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity Garba Shehu, made this promise on Friday when he received Isoko traditional rulers in Abuja.

The lawmaker representing Kogi West senatorial district in the National Assembly, Senator Dino Melaye has slammed the police for denying knowledge of his abduction by gunmen. The police denied knowledge of the alleged abduction of the flamboyant senator representing Kogi West in the National Assembly. According to police spokesman at the FCT Command, Anjuguri Manza, no official complaint had been filed on the matter. However, Melaye described police response as “appalling.”
5. APC Chairman Assassinated In Imo State
Unknown gunmen have assassinated the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of Ideato North Local Government, Sunny Ejiagwu. The victim, who was murdered on Friday morning, was among the party’s Local Government Chairmen elected in the just concluded congress held early this week in the state. According to sources, Ejiagwu was killed along the Orlu-Akokwa Road, on his way home shortly after attending a meeting at the APC Secretariat in Owerri, the state capital.

Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu has said he is being hunted by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government because he is demanding for true democracy in Nigeria. Ekweremadu noted this on Friday after a large crowd marched through the streets in Enugu to express displeasure over the siege laid on his residence and that of the Senate President Bukola Saraki by security agents.
