1. Adeosun Discloses Reasons For Her Resignation


Embattled former Minister of Finance Kemi Adeosun has made known her reasons for resigning from her position in President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet. Adeosun, in her resignation letter obtained by Concise News, expressed shock at the outcome of the investigation done on the allegation showing that her NYSC certificate, which she had earlier tendered as Commissioner for Finance in Ogun State, was not genuine.

2. President Buhari Accepts Kemi Adeosun’s Resignation

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday accepted the resignation of the Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun. In a short statement on the official Twitter handle of the presidency on Friday night, Buhari also directed the Minister of State Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, to oversee the Ministry.

Nigeria’s minister of information, Lai Mohammed, says the prediction of Peoples Democratic Party’s victory at 2019 presidential poll by The Economist magazine is fake news. Concise News recalls that The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), the research unit of the magazine, had said though the 2019 election would be “a close contest”, the PDP would defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Senator Shehu Sani, representing Kaduna Central, has finally spoken on the sour relationship between him and Nasir el-Rufai, his state governor. Chancellor of Covenant University, Bishop David Oyedepo, on Thursday, sacked the registrar of Covenant University Dr. Olumuyiwa Oludayo over allegations of sexual intimacy with students. Oyedepo, who doubles as the General Overseer of the Living Faith Church (Aka Winners Chapel), owners of Covenant University made Oludayo’s sack known during a chapel service with 100 and 200 level students of the school.

9. EFCC Allegedly Freezes Davido’s Bank Account

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly frozen the account of musician David Adeleke, also known as Davido. Davido is scheduled to appear in all Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaigns for the Osun Governorship election.

10. Maigari, Ogunjobi Battle Pinnick For NFF Seat

List of candidates seeking positions on the Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation on 20 September was on Thursday released by the Electoral Committee of the body. Among the candidates vying for the president of the NFF are the incumbent, Amaju Pinnick, who is also the 1st Vice President of Caf, and a member of the Organising Committee for Fifa Competitions, a statement by the NFF Director of Communications read.
