1. Saraki, Dogara, Tambuwal, Other PDP Leaders Protest Osun Election Outcome At INEC HQ
Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday led a protest against the outcome of the recently held Osun State Governorship election. Senate President Bukola Saraki, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, and the national chairman of the party, Uche Secondus, led the protesters to the headquarter of INEC in Abuja.
2. IGP Idris Invites Saraki, Melaye Over Osun Election Protest
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris has invited Senate President Bukola Saraki, Dino Melaye and Ben Murray-Bruce over alleged disturbance of public peace. Saraki, National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus and other leaders of the party stage a protest to the headquarters of INEC in Abuja over the outcome of the Osun governorship election.

Jimi Agbaje has won the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Lagos governorship ticket for the 2019 general election. Agbaje beat Adedeji Doherty to the party’s ticket after an indirect election on Thursday after getting 1,100 votes as compared to Doherty’s 742 votes.

Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has said that the fate of Senator Shehu Sani lies in the hands of the delegates of the APC in the state. Speaking to State House correspondents after a closed-door meeting with President Buhari on Friday, the governor described the president as a democrat who is against imposition.

Senator representing Kaduna central, Shehu Sani has accused the governor, Nasir El-Rufai of organising a “kangaroo” primary election in the senatorial district. It will be recalled that the national working committee (NWC) of the party had initially given an automatic ticket to the lawmaker but was revoked following a protest by El-Rufai.

Four persons including a soldier and a policeman have reportedly been killed during a midnight attack by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Nkiendoro village in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State. A Catholic Church and Evangelical Church, in Nkiendoro village, were burnt during the attack which took place on Thursday night.

Senator Ben Murray-Bruce on Friday said policemen teargassed him and other leaders of the PDP in Abuja. The lawmaker had participated in a protest led by the National Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus, to express displeasure with the outcome of the Osun governorship rerun election which was won by the candidate of the APC, Gboyega Isiaka Oyetola.
