The senator representing Kogi West Dino Melaye was rearrested for his pending offences of criminal conspiracy and unlawful possession of prohibited firearms, police have said. Melaye was re-arrested on Wednesday after his arraignment and subsequently meeting bail conditions, including the sum of N90million. He was arraigned by the force at Chief Magistrate Court in Wuse Abuja.

The Nigeria Police Force is planning to take Senator Dino Melaye to Kogi state, according to the lawmaker representing Bayelsa East Ben Murray-Bruce. In a tweet on his handle on Wednesday, Murray-Bruce noted that in spite of the bail granted Melaye, the police picked him up and claimed they were taking him to the hospital.

Senate did not primarily summon the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, over the arrest of Senator Dino Melaye, spokesman of the red chambers Senator Sabi Abdullahi has said. Briefing journalists on Wednesday after the police boss failed for the second time to appear before the Senate, Abdullahi claimed the main concern of the Senate was the state of insecurity in several parts of the country.
6. Buhari Paid $490m To Facilitate White House Invite – Fani-Kayode
Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has alleged that President Muhammadu Buhari got an invite from US President Donald Trump because he paid $490m up front for the Tucano jets.
