The National Assembly has postponed its resumption from the ongoing two-month annual recess to October 9, 2018, Concise News has learned. It was gathered that the decision followed a meeting by the leadership of the National Assembly on Sunday night. The Clerk to the National Assembly, Mohammed Sani-Omolori, in a statement issued shortly after the meeting, announced the postponement.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed September 27 for Osun State governorship election rerun, following the declaration of Saturday’s poll as inconclusive. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the 2018 Osun state governorship election inconclusive, fixing September 27 for a rerun. Declaring the outcome of the election at the INEC headquarters in Osogbo on Sunday, the commission’s Presiding Officer, Professor Joseph Fuwape, announced that the PDP candidate scored 254,698 votes while his APC counterpart scored 254,345 votes. Fuwape, however, said that the number of votes in places where the election was cancelled prevented him from declaring Ademola Adeleke of the PDP as the winner.
