[Breaking News] School Children Dead, Others Trapped In Lagos Building Collapse At The Ita Faji Area.
A three-storey building on
Wednesday collapsed at the Itafaji area of Lagos Island in Lagos state,
South-west Nigeria.
A primary school is said to be
located on the top floor of the building with pupils feared killed and others
trapped.
A resident, according to a
report by a national daily Punch, at least 10
pupils had been removed from the rubble.
“It is terrible. Parents are
crying. I can’t withstand the gorry sight,” the resident, Prince Adams, added.
It was also learned that men of
the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (Lasema) were already at the
scene of the collapse, according to the spokesman for the agency, Kehinde
Adebayo.
Concise News understands that
the structure is reported to be a residential building with several apartments.
As at the time of filing this
report, emergency and rescue workers are at the scene of the incident.
