The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to sign the ‘Not too Young to Run’ bill and quit his position before the 2019 elections. The National President of the ACF Yerima Shettima said this in reaction to Buhari’s Democracy Day broadcast. Buhari had said he would sign the bill as part of the process to amend the 1999 Constitution.

The Christian Association of Nigeria has called for the cancellation of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board recruitment test into the Nigeria Police Force because Arabic language was made compulsory for Muslims and Christians. The body demanded for another test within 72 hours otherwise it would embark on other measures to seek redress. President of CAN, Rev. Samson Ayokunle, said it would be wrong for President Muhammadu Buhari, who swore to defend both the Christians and Muslims alike, to turn around and allow his appointees divide Nigeria through their actions.

The leaders of the robbery gang that struck banks in Offa in Kwara on April 5 are reported to be making startling confessions. Commissioner of Police in the north-central state Fatai Owoseni on Tuesday led his men to the site of the factory located at Amyuwogbu-Ibilla in Oju. He said the factory owner Abi Odah was arrested alongside his son, Kingsley, and one other Thomas Ode, alias Tommy Tommy.

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Wednesday receive the Super Eagles contingent for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. The meeting was earlier billed to hold on Tuesday evening but will now take place today at 10am, just before the commencement of the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting. Minister of Sports Solomon Dalung will present the team to President Buhari, hours before they fly to London aboard a chartered aircraft for another pre-World Cup friendly with England on Saturday.
